February 20, 2018

National Bank of Poland has admitted that it financed anti-cryptocurrency campaigns in social networks. In particular, the bank funded Polish video blogger Marcin Dubiel to create a video called "STRACIŁEM WSZYSTKIE PIENIĄDZE?!" ("I LOST ALL THE MONEY ?!"), which was posted on Youtube in December 2017.

The campaign was funded by the National Bank in partnership with Polish Youtube partner network Gamellon, Google Ireland Limited, and Facebook Ireland Limited. Polish news portal money.pl reports that 91 thousand zloty (approximately $27,000) was spent to produce the content.

Dubiel has not yet recognized that he was paid to make this video and has not marked this video as a sponsored one. The video itself was posted on December 8. 2017 and it tells the story of a man, who invested all his money in the cryptocurrency, but eventually lost everything. This video has collected more than 500 thousand views.

Description of the video contains the hashtag #uważajnakryptowaluty, which is also the name of the website, that Polish Financial Supervision Authority and the National Bank of Poland created as a part of the anti-cryptocurrency campaign. The website contains lots of warnings against the use of cryptocurrencies in Polish.
