Police Arrests Bitconnect Member in India
August 21, 2018
Divyesh Darji, the head of marketing division at India’s crypto pyramid Bitconnect, was detained by immigration department at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. The arrested one was conveyed from Dubai.
With reference to the data published by the Gujurat state police, Darji is charged with involvement in activities aimed at attracting new user to the financial pyramid while promising up to 1%-profit a day from investing in Bitconnect.
Remarkable enough, the pyramid folded up early this year but investigation on its founders and members began after a crypto investor was kidnapped in the Indian city of Surat who gave out later 200 BTC.
Note that last week the last platform that supported the project’s tokens called BCC, reported it delisted the cryptocurrency.
