Arsenal F.C. to Promote Cryptocurrency
January 26, 2018
One of the most popular soccer teams in the world Arsenal is becoming the first major club that will promote a cryptocurrency.
The Gunners have signed a sponsorship agreement with an American betting company CashBet and became its "exclusive and official blockchain partner." Within the partnership Arsenal will promote company's cryptocurrency called CashBet Coin (CBC), which will be issued through the ICO.
Club's Chief Commercial Officer Vinai Venkatesham said:
"[Arsenal] looking forward to working with CashBet Coin as they launch their new cryptocurrency."
Under the agreement, Cashbet is eligible to use Arsenal's brand to promote its cryptocurrency, and the cryptocurrency itself will be advertised at club's Emirates Stadium, club's home ground.
This deal is another serious step towards the adoption of cryptocurrencies, since the English Premier League is the most popular soccer league in the world. For example, in 2015 the league sold broadcasting rights for £5.136 billion. And Arsenal is one of the most popular soccer clubs not only in Great Britain, but in the world.
CashBet specializes in providing gaming operators with suitable software that helps them to accept cryptocurrencies from players. Pre-ICO of CashBet Coin has started on January 24 and will end on February 20.
